Welcome to my website. Here you'll learn when I'll be speaking in your
area and how you may arrange for me to present a seminar in your church. It
is my heart's desire that women grow strong in the grace and knowledge of
Jesus Christ and that they will, in turn, mentor their sisters in the Lord
(Titus 2:3-5). With a distinctly Christ-centered, biblically-based
foundation, it's my hope that my ministry materials will encourage women to start
at the right place when seeking help and that they will live faithful
Christian lives to God's glory. That God is the source and meaning of all
of life, His glory and pleasure are paramount and His Word is the light upon
our path and the only reliable guide for life, is the focus of everything
I've written and produced. Thank you for visiting with me today, may we all
live for His glory and enjoy Him forever!
My latest book, "Because He Loves Me: How Christ Transforms Our Daily Life," is now available for pre-publication
purchase at our new website, www.becausehelovesme.com.On this website you can pre-order the book at a 35% discount. In addition,
you can pre-order a CD of devotional readings and music written and performed by Steve and Vikki Cook, as well.
My books and audio presentations are no longer available on this site. Evangelical Bible
Book Store in San Diego, CA, handles all of my books and audio recordings (www.ebiblebookstore.com).
I recommend EBBS and their ministry highly. If there is a way that you can use their website rather
than go to a mega-store, I would ask that you do so. The owners of this business
are godly and in need of our support as their ministry of selling Christian books at a discount is being assailed.
Pastor Jim Newheiser (Grace Bible Church), Dr. Laura Hendrickson and I are thrilled with the
release of our new book, "When Good Kids Make Bad Choices: Hope and Help for Hurting Parents" from Harvest House.
To order this wonderful help for parents who feel as though they've lost control of their kids, please click on the Books and Audio link above.
Thank you all for your prayers for this project. We trust that the Lord will be pleased to bless this work
and encourage many hurting parents.
"Will Medicine Stop the Pain: Discovering God's Healing for Depression, Anxiety and Other Troubling Emotions," written
by myself and Dr. Laura Hendrickson, has been released. Please pray that the Lord will use this book for His purposes and that Laura
and I will be bold and humble as we defend what seems an unpopular position. The Lord has graciously given us many media
interviews -- please pray that He'll open doors for us so that many people will hear this important message.
P & R has released "A Steadfast Heart: Experiencing God's Comfort in the Midst of the Storm,"
Please pray that the Lord will use this book to comfort many women in their varied afflictions.
The Lord has graciously opened the door for me to partner with songwriters Steve and Vikki Cook and together
with them we have produced a CD of music and readings that will accompany the book. Please remember us in
prayer, especially that the CD will speak comfort and grace to many hearts.
Elyse has completed the manuscript for "Because He Loves Me: How Christ Transforms Our Daily Life." This book is an exposition
and reminder of the gospel and challenges readers to answer this question: In your pursuit of godliness, have you left
Jesus behind? Everyone of us needs to continually remind ourselves of the gospel: the incarnation, sinless life, substitutionary
death, bodily resurrection, ascension and ongoing reign of the Son of God, in order to continue our fight against sin
in faith empowered by genuine love. "Because He Loves Me" is being published by Crossway Publishers and will probably be
out in May of 2008. If you would like to receive prayer updates on this project, please contact us and we will put your
name on our prayer list.
"Love to Eat, Hate to Eat" has been re-released in Mass Paperback form and is available.
"The Afternoon of Life: Finding Purpose and Joy in Midlife" has been released from P & R!
Here are two thoughts from Martin Luther's Commentary on Galatians: "...because we only have the firstfruits
of the Spirit, and the remnants of sin still remain in us, we do not obey the law perfectly. But this imperfection is not imputed to us
who believe in Christ...We are nourished and tenderly cherished for Christ's sake, in the lap of God's long-suffering."
By God's grace, my
testimony for this year will be,"I know that I am accepted and that I have the Holy Spirit--not because of my own worthiness, work, or merit,
but for the sake of Christ who because of his inestimable love for us made himself subject to law and took away the sins of the
world. I believe in him. If I am a sinner and go astray, he is righteous and cannot go astray. Moveover, I gladly hear, read, sing, and write
about him, and I desire nothing more than that his Gospel may be known to the whole world and that many people may be converted to him." (Martin
Luther, Galatians; The Crossway Classic Commentaries, Alister McGrath, J.I. Packer, Series Editors, 1998, p. 148, 206).
